i would recomed any canon powershot models i have the a620 and it takes great pictures

I like the Panasonic Lumix series - they are not too expensive, take great photos and pretty easy to use. Also, Amazon has the Lumix DMC-FZ20K at $299 instead of the usual $599. I have used this camera and would recommend it!

I would pick canon, nikon or fuji. Nikon gets little pricey, fuji is the cheapest, but the best picture quality has canon. I have the PowerShot SD450, it's a nice little camera and I got it for $269.99
