Who would object to having a legal Mexican as a neighbor? I ask this because I've noticed that right after you guys pull the "legality" card, you don't hesitate to call us Mexicans "beaners", "bean burritos", "berry pickers", "clown-car rider" and other idiotic terms. Does becoming legal strip a person of those definitions?

I'm on your side. But has it occurred to you that reading fails most of these posts? To answer your question,

Hell no, it will not strip the anti-illegals from those labels if you are a legal mexican living next door. It's their excuse to rant and be out of the racist closet. Their thoughts here are racist on the internet, their homes, and their hearts and in China! Some things never change!

Look at that fat lady called Hayleylov, give her your clown gear; she's racist at heart.

To that Sealrborder, don't play a saint here; no one calls illegals and Mexicans more vulgarities than you, Miss KMA! Dumbas s Illegals Labeling Machine!

When me and my family first moved into an all white neighbor hood, we felt that people would treat us different. Well... at first you can tell that a couple of our neighbors were a little peeved at us moving in. In six months 4 neighbors moved out. But thats okay after they moved out our new neighbors were all great. I do think that they think we are dealing drugs since we own nice cars, a nice wakeboard boat and keep our yard very maintainced. But its all hard work. No we did not come here illegally actually my mother came here with a visa then became a citizian. But...... my grandmother did come here illegally so what does that mean? I would not be here and would not have what I have if my grandmother had not risked her life to come here. Thanks Grandma! and I would love to have you as my neighbor you seem fun. If you are ever thinking of moving Modesto, CA is the place.

Unfortunately, being a legal immigrant doesn't mean that the most narrow-minded and ignorant among us won't hurl racial epithets in your general direction. But hey, I lived in San Antonio for 3 years and met LOTS of wonderful people of Mexican descent. If you're my neighbor, I don't care what color your skin is or where you came from. What I DO care about is whether you start mowing your lawn at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday (like one of my neighbors does) or if you play loud music or throw loud parties past 10:00 p.m. on weeknights (I have a couple of neighbors who do that). Your race or ethnic background have nothing to do with being a good neighbor.

I do have Mexican neighbors, and they are very friendly, polite, and support their kids' school. Some of the things written on here are reprehensible, but I suspect the majority of the obnoxious comments come from thirteen year olds with poor impulse control who feel like anything goes on the Internet. I have never in my life heard these terms applied to Mexicans in real life.

I have Mexicans living next door to me and it doesn't bother me one bit. The only ones I'd object to having next door would be the illegals since - in all honesty - they seem to try and pack 30 people in a house designed for a family of 4. Some people tend to be a bit of a bigot when it comes to people of other nationalities. Incidentally, I also have friends who are Mexican and we get along fine, thank you very much.

Sandy G is right, this question and the way you act in general make you no better then the people you are objecting to. A Mexican family lives right next door to me. They are nice people, and we all get along just fine.

There are lot's anti-illegal/pro-lawfulness people who are saying a whole lot. It just sounds to me like you're searching out the loud, racist few so as to use them to demonize the rest of us.

Try not to be so transparent.

You personally??? I DOUBT it, not after some of the things you've said on HERE!!!!!!!!

Mexican people in general?? I have no problem with that!! In fact, there are a few mexican familys already on my street, and they are great neighbors!!!

I don't believe in calling people "beaners","wetbacks" etc. I think it's wrong. I just call them ILLEGALS,because they ARE here illegally!!!
BUT, some of the PRO-illegal people on here, have impersonated me, and others, MANY times,They've insulted us,called us names, etc. And THAT is wrong ALSO!

I don't expect everyone to agree with my stance, but neither do i expect such vulgar behavior, either!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, all my neighbors are hispanic. Except for the guy that beats his poor pregnant wife, I like them all. I don't believe any of them pick berries or beans or whatever. My neighbors are all professionals. If they were illegal, I wouldn't hesitate to turn them in.

Racist don't care if you are legal or not. Just ask tyrone. I work with several Mexicans and I wouldn't mind living next to them just don't cook a goat in the front lawn.
