Does anyone know how I can get rid of this quicker and ease some of the pain? I've been putting blistex on it and peroxide to cool it off, but that seems to only be a temporary fix. Any suggestions?

Try taking Lysine on a daily basis, it works from the inside out. Also look at the drugstore for a product that works on not just the pain but isolating the spread of the blister. I use something that looks like cotton swabs with doses of meds inside. Be on your guard, these little annoyances will spread. Don't "pop" the blister then touch another part of your mouth. If it doesn't go away in no more than two weeks, see a doctor.
Avoid anything with acid, like orange juice or tomato anything. These things only make the blister worse. Stress can cause fever blisters so try not to worry about the one you have or you'll sprout more.

It begins with the herpes simplex one virus. Not to be confused with herpes. It's viral and will take its course. You are doing all you can do. There are over the counter treatments made for coldsores and that is all you need. :-) PS here are one of many sites on the subject.

Fever blisters are caused by the virus Herpes simplex, and are acquired by contact. It will go away shortly.

abreva or this thing that comes in a yellow tube or an over the counter lip balm and also you can go to the doctors and ask him.her about it

Squeeze it to get most of the liquid out and then use rubbing alcohol on it.
that will help dry it out and it will go away quicker.

Use ABREVA it works great...It costs like $15 but its worth it....they clear up in1-2 days...You can find it at any pharmacy @ walmart, eckerd,walgreens,kmart,cvs,etc....good luck!

start taking lysine everyday and you wont get them so often. go to the store and look in the vitiman isle. it helps very well i use it everyday and almost never get them anymore. good luck!

There is a new ointment, which is not cheap, at the Chemists. Its first letter is a Z.............. which seems to be working well.
