I'm 13 and I'm on my first period right now. It began on the 8th of July and I still have it. I think somethings wrong but my mom is out of town so I don't know who to ask. It doesn't hurt, but the flow isn't light and I've been using pads for almost two weeks now. I'm sick of it and I don't know what to do. Please, help me, anyone.

Nothings normal with your first period! Don't worry just yet. My first few periods lasted 8 -10 days, now, many years later they only last 3-4 days. The flow & color changes too. Oh, and how often you'll get it will change too. Probably wouldn't hurt to make a gyno appointment soon, if you do end up being a little irregular they can prescibe a pill to regulate it for ya. Relax!

You are fine honey! The first few are irregular lasting anywhere form 2-20 days. Just don't worry too much cause that can also cause it to stay. Stress can delay or extend the durations. Good Luck mom will be home soon I hope!

It can be normal for your first period hun, the first period is always hard to predict. If you are really concerned. Go to a walk in clinic, or call an aunt or something. You aren't in pain, do you have a fever? It should end soon.

There is nothing wrong b/c it's normal if it goes on over a week and a half then you might have an issue but right now don't worry about it b/c mine is a week long =)

since it's your first period, you probably shouldn't be too worried. this is new for your body and there are a lot of hormonal and chemical changes going on. my first period lasted almost two weeks and i bled like a pig. your body is trying to adjust to the changes. you probably don't have anything to worry about. unfortunately you just have to deal with it. your next period shouldn't be as bad and it should get progressively better.

It should stop soon, i had one this long before. You should be fine.
i can understand being sick of it- tampons work well to get rid of the "wet" feeling.
But if it don't stop soon ( like in next 3 days) you might consult a doctor or ask an adult whom you trust.

well its your first, its the worst one. my first period lasted about 2 weeks as well and it was very uncomfortable, don't worry to much it wont be this way every month. if you still feel its too much and want more reassuring then you can go to your family doctor, even a pediatrician.

Don't know if this is unusual. Ask whoever your caretaker is to call your pediatrician and get professional answers. Maybe this is NOT abnormal for you.
