This is a disease of sudden onset with paralysis of one side of the face, and there is no treatment. I have diagnosed quite a few cases, and recovery time is too variable to predict, but is probably due to a virus and ten days to two weeks minimum can be expected. Permanent disability would be very rare.

usually lasts about 2 weeks and then starts getting better - usually complete recovery within 6 months

This is a generalization and doesnt apply to everyone.....remember, everyone is differnet and each case is unique

My little sister had it. It hereditary from what i understand...my Uncle had it too. We messaged her face daily and it only lasted a month.
