Depending on the light in which the prescriptivism is used, then yes. For the most part, the forum would benefit greatly from less usage of prescriptivism. For a question by a certain religion intended for members of that religion, I think that sometimes prescriptivism is about the only way for the question to be answered.

Unfortunately, I doubt you get many intelligent answers on this, as most people in this area won't know the meaning of the word and won't bother to look it up either.

Had to look up prescriptivism. Yes, but you just have to skip over the extreme right and left side answers. Every once in a while you receive or read some very good input. Just like in everyday life you have to ignore the aholes.

I will stop prescribing religion on here when people stop asking for a cure for their problems in the religion and spirituality section. If people don't want someone to try to *fix* their life or situation with words from the Koran or the Bible or the Torah or what have you, then, I think if they ask it in this forum and get a barrage of those types of answers instead of going to another forum like relationships and family or something else, because that is where they should go to get answers not solely based upon religion, well, I bet they will remember to post in the right section next time.

I believe that Yahoo haven't been looking at the abuse being done in this particular section. It's a shame. It is overwhelming and very sad. People can't use constructive criticism of each other but only destructive. We have to pray for these people who abuse this forum daily and keep pressing the report button if need be.

Shalom

"Constructive", "lazy", and "gibberish" don't often belong in the same sentence, so I'm going to say no, it most certainly wouldn't.
