what r your views on masturbation. do u think its perfectly healthy, or do you think its quite sad and pathetic and for losers who dont have girlfriends and boyfriends. i am unsure about masturbation, whether its right or not, many people seem to think it corrupts the soul, and that we need to control these urges that we have. but i am not sure as it can lead to repression if we dont do it, but then again if we are strong enough to control ourselves, their is nothing to repress. i masturbated quite regularly before when i was around 15-16, and i used to feel sick at myself for doing it. it just made me feel horrible like i was committing some sort of a sin. and then one day suddenly i just stopped around about the age of 16, and i am 19 now and i hadnt done it for three years and i am still a virgin btw. i want to do it, but at the same time i also dont want to as i think their is something wrong in doing it.

please help me out here, i need a religous viewpoint here. is it wrong??

from a religious view, yes it is wrong.
when you masturbate you are violating the person you are thinking about. and lust is also a sin.

from a social view, no it is perfectly normal.
most every guy does it, and it may in fact be healthy.

Some people think that anything we find pleasurable corrupts the soul. Its perfectly natural for ADULTS, however, these days 12 year old kids think they need to do it, and that leads to frustration and real sex before their minds and bodies are ready for it. Only a few years ago, young teenagers didn't know what masterbation was, now, they feel like there is something wrong with them if they haven't mastered at least one technique to get them to orgasm. Its perfectly normal to do it once in a while, even babies play with themselves, but don't do it on a regulr basis. Go out and get a life including something besides sexual gratification. Its not like you actually NEED it.

hey. i know how hard that question can be. my view is this. God tells us that we are to serve him alone and not let anything master us. if masturbation is mastering you or if it is pulling you away from God then it is a sin because it goes against your conscience. I think that's great that you have listened to your conscience and gone for three years without... i sure am impressed. but if you believe this is something that will take you away from God, go to Him in prayer. It isn't something to be embarrassed about asking Him. just be honest and ask Him to help you. it can be hard at times, but God is faithful.

It has been proven to be unhealthy NOT to! I think it's sad that our society has led us to believe that our bodies, and natural desires, are sinful, or wrong! Arousal is perfectly normal, and masturbation is a very healthy practice (in moderation... exceeding twice daily is probably a bit much!). Don't feel guilty. It can be uncomfortable to have to 'hold it in' like that, so please relieve yourself! You'll feel much better.

Its natural. We have been created to be able to enjoy ourselves. Why would we have this luxury, why would GOD have made us in his image, if we were not to enjoy this experience. He would not have created us this way if he didn't want us to be able to "do it". Or is masturbation a result of evolutation? If so, than that blows your GOD created everything theory right down the drain. And in that case, than there is no question.

This whole thing sounded like a joke until I got to the part about you being a virgin.

Go have sex and you won't be sexually repressed anymore.

Personally, I feel there is nothing wrong with it. Of course this is not a Christian perspective.
