For example: while they try to put the ten commandments up in court houses and have their god on our currency and in our pledge of allegiance and are given many other favors by our government, they act like everyone is taking away their rights and persecuting them when people try to make it more fair for other beliefs.

im not saying all christians do this, and im sorry if i implied that because i know that some christians are great, smart people. but mostly im just talking about people like whynotaskdon who try to press their beliefs on everyone, yet they are offended when other people call them on it.

Ever hear the phrase, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it"? Christian fundamentalists have been on the attack for years now, trying to deny rights to homosexuals, trying to outlaw abortions, trying to keep women from obtaining equal rights, and trying to impose their own morals - many of them non-biblical - on the rest of society. Non-Fundamentalists are finally fighting back by speaking out against their campaigns, their media onslaughts, and their mistaken notions of truth, and the Fundamentalists don't like it very much. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. So when people of good conscience stand up for their rights, Fundamentalists cry foul - they claim they are being persecuted.

why are people always attacking Christians on here? I'm a Christian and don't feel victimized, so I have no idea what you're talking about. But I do believe that people who come on this site and post a question as you just did, have some kind of axe to grind. Whats the basis of your question or are you just trying to start some crap?
Oh and by the way, God loves you.

I love the broad, all-encompassing questions..."ALWAYS"...so, you're saying that EVERY Christian you have ever known acts like a victim? Hmmm...either you don't know many Christians, or you only hear those Christians who like to play the victim card. Either way, it's an unfair statement, since Christians certainly DO NOT hold exclusive rights to victimhood. Do some Christians act like victims, sure, do some Jews, yep, Muslims, no doubt...? So, the real question...back to you...is why does this concern you?

Your question doesn't need to be limited to just one particular group of people. Ask that of all humanity. Many people who are Christian act vicitimized, or so you say, because they are being attacked. Trust me when I say that there are sincere Christians out there who do not hate or attack other people, people who end up having to put up with the backlash of those who have run into other "Christians" and then bash the rest of us who haven't even done anything. We are the ones who have to pick up the pieces in the end. That's why we act like victims. Remember, when you generalize with a statement like "all Christians," or "all Muslims," it's just as bigoted and hateful as saying "all white people," or "all Palestinians." Until you personally know each and every indiviudal within that group, you have no basis for your broad observation.

The term "Christain" is a label that few people assume without the knowledge as to what a true believer of Jesus Christ is. We should be very careful when making genaral statements because they don' t always apply to the majority. If ever you come in contact with a true believer you will know the difference because there character is christlike, but keep in mind they are also humans and by grace are they saved so give them a break !

I think you should conditionalise that. Not *all* Christians do. Try saying "some" or "a few." It will get you more intelligent responses and probably an answer more along the lines of what you're looking for. Stereotyping is not typically a good light to ask a question in.

I, personally have no idea what you are talking about. I am a Christian, and I don't feel the least victimized as you put. A person with the Lord in their heart is one of the happiest people there are. We don't sit around moping, think people are against us, and if they are, so what? All our troubles, we can turn over to the Lord, and once we do that, He takes care of them.

"Always" is a pretty sweeping word, don't you think?

We don't always act victimized.

We only act that way in certain situations -- such as when someone accuses ALL of us of "always acting so victimized" and similar things as that.

Also, remember that Christians are routinely persecuted as a matter of state policy in at least 30 countries around the world. In such countries, it is literally against the law to be a Christian.

Being a Christian and working in psychology I can opine that the victim personality does not solely lie in Christianity. It is a sign of our society today and unfortunately Christians as well as everyone else have adopted the traits.

It's not fair to say all of them do, but I think the general belief among those who do this is they are being persecuted for their faith. They are taught this is what to expect and it's because of their "love for Jesus" instead of recognizing it could be related to their attitude and presentation about their religious beliefs. Anyone who tries to point out the distinction is labeled as the anti-Christ and the martyrdom begins.
