People say if there is a God why would he permit this? But if something goes well they don't give God any of the credit. When he has created all that is good.

Some people don't realize that god doesn't always do things the way we want to be done,he works in ways we cannot see,but he will make a way for me,he wil always be by my side.

There is a God and He permits people to do as you say because man has free will. If something goes well, man should give God the credit for it and if things go wrong or badly, they should not blame God but they do. Some people really think that God causes things to go badly and some people want to think that and there are others who do not know whether God caused things to go badly or not. Sometimes things go badly for us as we see it but in the long run, the way things went is really better for us and God knows this.

There is a tendency in everyone to clear themselves of blame and guilt in their own minds and find someone or something else to make a scapegoat - human nature, I guess.

The opposite side of this same complaint would seem to say that everything that ever goes wrong in a person's life happened because he just didn't quite have enough faith in God, but when things go well, God gets the credit. Part of my own frustration with Christianity has always been that no matter whatever you did, for God, yourself or another person, it was never good enough. I have enough guilt without having someone else constantly trying to shove it down my throat, thank you. I really don't think God works that way.

What an awesome question.

People often have so much proud of them self that when something good happens, they yuppie to themselves, and give themselves a big paddle on their back, because they want to let the world know, how good he or she is and that he can make most anything, and when this proud become upon men, they forget God.

When bad things happens, they are so ashamed and angry that they cannot blame anyone else on earth, but God. Because even if they don't believe in God, they still complain ¿why, why?
They are just in the need to hit someone, but they know if they do, they will be in trouble and maybe arrested.

The concept of a 'God' was created by men as an easy easy answer to how the world works and to control men's behavious. The bible makes no mention of dinosaurs because it's writers didn't know they existed. The bible says the world is 6000 years old because it's writers did not know how to use carbon dating to determine how long the world has existed.

Trust me on this, there is no bearded old white guy pulling the strings in the sky making things happen (tragic or miraculous). If you want to prove it, drink a bottle of draino -if it wasn't in God's plan for you to die that day, you won't, right? And if you do, well it was decided out of your hands up in the heavens along time ago.

When I have gone to a church and ministers start saying hymns that basically say "we thank the Lord for everything that we have, He is great, He gave us everything that is great, He controls everything...." I find it amazing that people think this all-powerful, all-knowing God who's existed for eternity has an EGO and NEEDS to be worshiped or He'll smite you? And to top it all off, all of earth and life is just one big experiment where he controls everything?

Do ya'll recall when Pope John Paul admitted (before he passed) that their is no literal heaven and no literal hell, that those are just places in our mind? Not a lot of people know that because it upset a lot of traditional Catholics. But he said it, because the man was intelligent. If you are Catholic, you believe the pope is the closest dude to God so you gotta recognize.

Anyhow, my 2 cents...

God gave us the gift of free will.
That means we can choose...
to do good or to do evil.

A knife can be used as a dinner utensil, or it can be used to commit a homicide. Because we have free will, we alone can determine how that knife is used...to either help feed ourselves, or to commit a terrible act of violence on another person.

People like to have scapegoats. They always need someone else to blame, so they usually blame God.
If someone is murdered or is killed in a violent or unexpected manner, they usually say things like;

"Why did God let this happen?"
Why didn't God stop it?"

If God were to stop every act of violence before it was perpetrated, where then is our free will?
Where is our accountability for our wrongdoing?

When people die from ill health and various disease, we die because we were are mortal, and are therefore subject to the same laws of nature that govern all living things.

When people finally begin to realize & acknowledge that the devil is real...that he does indeed exist... and that he is capable of influencing man's free will because man allows it...only then will people stop blaming God for everything that goes wrong.

God is the Author Of Life...not death.

Maybe they don't really believe in God? If they did, they surely would give him credit when things go well! Bad things also have to happen in life....like someone said, look at Job's life! I think bad things happen for us to learn from. Life is also a circle. God gives life and God takes life. Who are we to judge him anyway. God is good and he has his reasons for everything. There always will be good and bad in the world, whether we like it or not. Heaven is where everything will be perfect!

Actually, in my experience, most christians blame themselves collectively (mankind) when things are bad and give god all the credit for the good things (God cured my cancer! Well, yeah, I did chemo...but it was God that cured me, not science!). That's stupid.
Let's say you're an alcoholic. You blame yourself for becoming an alcoholic, because you allowed yourself to become addicted. You do a 12-step, you pull yourself out of the rut and become sober. Good for you. Why is it that, if you are religious, it's your fault you were a drunk and god's grace that got you out of it? Did you not do the work yourself? If it's your fault you were an alcoholic, it's your strength that got you out it. If it's god's strength that got you out of alcoholicism, then it's god's fault you were an alcoholic in the first place. If god created all that is good, he created all that is bad. He can't take half the credit.

People blame GOD because thats the only person they think that they could actually yell at and not getting hit or yelled beack at so thats why they do it cause I use to do the same thing but what they don't know is when they do that they just curse themselves. Best bet is when your made just talk to GOD about it and yea it wont be ok tomorrow or the next day it could take time but GOD doesn't forget about his people and what they prey for or worry about.

Attributing praise or blame to something external to yourself is, in psychology, a concept known as Locus of Control.

People tend to ascribe their chances of future successes or failures either to internal or external causes. Persons with an internal locus of control see themselves as responsible for the outcomes of their own actions. These individuals often believe that they control their destiny, and are often observed to excel in educational or vocational realms. Someone with an external locus of control, on the other hand, sees environmental causes and situational factors as being more important than internal ones. These individuals would be more likely to see luck rather than effort as determining whether they succeed or fail in the future, and are more likely to view themselves as the victim in any given situation.

In your question, the person who might blame god would have an external locus of control in one situation and an internal locus of control in another (which would explain why they do not thank god). This behavior could be conditioned or situational. This goes far in explaining what the problem is, but it doesn't explain why people do this. Unfortunately, we have never and probably will never be able to fully explain why other people (and we ourselves) do the things they (we) do.

its just like when you have something bad happen to you and all of a sudden you find god, cuz people are full of crap and can't have enough faith in themselves so they turn to a made up person to make themselves feel better. People are confused and brain washed when it comes to religion and i'm sick of talking about it! When peoples lives are going well it is because of themselves and they deserve the credit, when things go bad....well who better to blame it, god obviously permitted it...why?? who knows people are stupid!
