I guess you could say this is a personal preference type of thing. I have fished with guys that were obsessed with catching bass or walleye and fished for only that all day long and caught maybe 1 fish or got skunked. That doesn't seem fun to me. I like to mix it up. Let's hear some opinions or personal preferences.

Almost always start early morning for bass (big'ns).... If they arent biting I then throw some lighter tackle out that will still catch a bass but also some crappie and bluegill.....Some of the best crappie fishing I've done was after the bass stopped biting......I start with plastic worms/large spinners/crankbaits..... If nothing is biting I go smaller to smaller spinners/jigs just so I can catch whatever is biting..... Never been fishing and not caught something...

Anything that is edible! If it's too small or too young or inedible we throw it back so it can grow & multiply & have some fish for our grandchildren & even great grandchildren. Unwritten code in Hawaii, only catch what you're going to eat, but like anywhere else, there are people who don't care & are inconsiderate,(in my opinion) So now the State is making laws......Teriyaki sauce: 2Cups Shoyu, 1cup- one & a half cups white or brown sugar, (I like brown but some people like white) 1/4 cup mirin,1/2 cup geen onions chopped,2-3 tablespoons fresh ginger root, 5 cloves or whatever you like of garlic, the sweeter the sauce the better it taste. This is for 3-4 lb chicken, you should make xtra sauce though, & charcoal is the best so the sugar caramelzes, be careful not to burn it, sugar burns quickly! Use the leftover sauce & put in a pot & return to heat & reduce a little. This sauce can be used for dipping, or poured over chicken when you are done, or refrigerated or frozen for next time. I just had Teriyaki Steak for lunch today.

If fishing throughout the time of sunlight hours interior the summer season, you favor to seek for places the fish will be hiding. seek for any colour presented by skill of overhanging tree branches, quite grassy aspects interior the water. seek for large underwater platforms, which includes bridge pilings or maybe downed timber which have fallen into the water and solid close to them. you need to also evaluate bottom fishing in case you at the prompt are not getting any action close to the floor. And as some different person reported right here already, you are able to examine with a community bait keep to work out what they imagine is operating superb at the moment.
