Yes! Lettuce and spinach are great for Atkins. Although the book recommends a max of three cups for the first two weeks, I would often have more. Both are very low carb/high fibre, and spinach is jam packed with vitamins, minerals etc. Contrary to popular belief, veggies are a very important part of Atkins, especially the green leafys.
Run out to a used book store, or a thrift store, you can probably pick the book up cheap. Or check out this forum http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=98

You shoul eat 12-15 net carbs a day of vegetables so you must make sure that the amount of lettuce you consume does not add to more than 12-15 net carbs for more information go to www.atkins.com

I have read the Adkins book. You may eat the greens, but they do contain some carbs and must be counted, at least in the induction phase. If I remember right, once you get to maintenance phase you don't have to count them anymore.

finished-blown Atkins is not basic on a veg eating regimen. Meat and fish include 0 carbs yet each and everything else has some carbs, even only a tiny bit. you could actual bypass low-carb yet to do the stated 20g in step with day you'd be very constrained. in spite of the indisputable fact that it truly is plausible, you may ought to proceed to exist eggs, cheese, tofu and vegetables. yet you should nevertheless bypass low-ish-carb purely by technique of cutting out (or down on) cake, biscuits, bread, cereal, pasta, rice and potatoes. I actual have finished this myself and that i locate my blood sugar is so much better solid.

Okay, I'm breaking the rules, but I'm sorry, any diet that says you can't eat vegetables is bogus.
