No. "Chicken Fried" is just the way the steak is prepared. You know, battered with breadcrumbs and fried just like KFC fries their chicken.

According to The Dictionary of American Food and Drink by John Mariani, the term "chicken-fried steak" first appeared in print in the year 1952. It has long been a favorite dish in the South, Midwest, and Southwest United States.

oh my God!that is the nastiest thing I have ever tasted no joke...I`d never heard of it before and I was in Shawnee and went to Brahams early in the morning and ordered what I saw on the menu as Steak.so I had my chops fixed on this steak sandwich and I get this chicken fried steak between a bun and some other stuff I nearly flipped out it was so gross,needless to say I gave it back,and to answer your question its NO,chicken pieces like backs,butts,gizzards livers etc.reconstituted and packed together like the MacDonalds McNuggets use to be .
