Before this is over, I would like to add, sex is something because two people love each other very much, is not a game, and cause you have sex doesn't mean you're prostitute like a wacky old gramma said here. I don't care what you think, but anyway I will see from Heaven in Hell. old witch

just be straight up, say somethin like " do you get checked for std's often?" and if he says yes ask when his last one was, and if he would be willing to go with you to get one. make it somethin you can do together.

If you are not married you should not be having sex with your bf. But by time you get this you may all ready have. ( maybe not ) Question : how do you know you're allergic to condoms without having used them? As far as asking him to take a HIV test = just ask, look out after yourself - you cannot control what his actions or inactions will be. If he gets one and it's negative then he's clean but THAT doesn't justify having sex. If he refuses then you need to perhaps move on to a different bf who will respect you for who you are = AND that may be what you need to do anyway.

Are there alternatives to condoms that are safe?

I think there might be other alternatives

Fortunately several products are available for latex sensitive users and are made out of polyurethane. Trojan makes the supra condom and Durex offers the Avanti non-latex condom. In addition the Female Condom is also made of polyurethane - not latex.

This is all I could come up with, they will all protect you from pregnancy and STD's

If you want to have your boyfriend tested as well, that's probably not a bad idea in any case, I think most reasonable guys would understand and say yes.

If you are in a mature relationship which includes a sexual relationship, then you should feel comfortable enough to be open and honest. Tell him what you want. Tell him that you cant have sex until he is tested. If he cares about you, he will have the test promptly. If he is only interested in sex and doesnt care about you, he probably wont bother.

If he takes offense to your asking, he has issues. Would you be offended if the situation was reversed?

Listen to me I am under the impresion that you are young so this is what you want to do, Don't take his word on if he has taken a test you make sure that he does and you see the results second the pill keeps you from getting preg not aids so go to the drug store and tell them that you are allergic to regular condoms and ask if they carry natural condoms (they call them Sheep skin) It only takes one time to get infected. Be safe

Look babe.... no matter what... He should understand this aint about embarrasing him... If he want to hit that... tell him there are rules... it will actually show how much u care about urself... ur life and those who care for u... I think it would be a great Idea if u can come up a lil bit bitchy... that way is not much of a request but an order... wich has to be followed... let him know u dont play with ur life... bring it up from the point of view of him taking it...is like He is protecting u from anything... thats why he is ur man... ;-)... hope it helps... much luv babe... and welcome to the enjoyment of an active sex life... watch out 4 everybody...;-)

You mean to tell me there is not a condom on the market that you are not allergic to? I couldnt imagine not using condoms even if the dude test comes back clear. There is still the window of safety with HIV/std tests. ANyway...No one should be offended to be asked to get tested for STDs. Tell him your alergic to condoms the same way you told us and tell him if he wants the booty he MUST get tested.

If your boyfriend really is in love with you, and cares for you, you should have no problem with telling him how it is. Communication is the most important aspect in a relationship. If communication breaks down, it is just a matter of time until the relationship is over, or one has to do something drastic to survive it. There is a rule in life that says, if not sure, don't, but it doesn't always fit in every situation. You tell him, you hear..

Don't forget to get paid first. But then, since you've already made yourselves into prostitutes in the past---you already know the drill.

Even the countries like Holland makes sure their hookers are "clean" and "healthy." If you are going to continue to act like a prostitute, at least take the same precautions they do. I wouldn't worry about offending you John----he's going to wonder whether he's safe too.

There are condoms that are made especially for those who have latex allergies (which is probably what you have)...try a more natural condom or a hypoallergenic one. Asking him to take an HIV test will offend him...and does not make for good pillow talk.

They make pother condoms that dont contain latex. You should look into getting some because I seriously doubt that he will be your last lover, and you may not be able to get everyone to take a STD test. Try lamb skin condoms.
