He's the kid who once declared me God

(or rather, as he later pointed out, just questioned whether or not I was God):

I had a few e-mail exchanges with him. He seems like a nice enough kid with a searching mind. He asks questions in just about every category out there. It might be that sometimes he doesn't think them through enough.

In any case, he's got a good heart.

Christians and what else think atheists are paranoid because atheists don't believe in their God and don't believe in their Holy Book of Fairy Tales. Since Christianity is a mental disease that distorts the thinking and reasoning of the mind, and since Christians are largely unaware that they're even affected by this mental disease, when you do or say differently from them, they think you must be crazy and think there are "things" out to get you. They think you're paranoid.
Don't take too much offense though, remember, they are the mentally ill ones. Just look at some of their answers to questions posted in here.

I'm a bit paranoid sometimes knowing that most of the people around me are religious, and I wonder what they will think or do if they knew I was an atheist.
I don't want to have to justify it to everyone I meet. But I am getting less paranoid about it the longer I'm an atheist.

I don't think that atheists are as paranoid as Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups who see an evil motive in everything around them that isn't absolutely obedient and in complete agreement with their way of thinking. Atheists don't really have too much to be paranoid about except religious zealots who would take away the legal rights (or worse) of others to hold their beliefs just as dearly as they do themselves.

because they are human beings, and all human beings are capable of paranoia. Of course the only real generality one can make of atheist is that they lack belief in some specifically defined deity. Absolute Atheists don't believe in any gods, while specialized atheists such as Christians just don't believe in any of the gods besides the one that they do believe.

I can't make sense out of it. I would have said that non-atheists could arguably be called gullible AND paranoid.
