It is in my version! Some people use breadcrumbs instead, but I find that oatmeal makes it less tough.

Oatmeal can be used as a substutute for bread crumbs in meatloaf.
I've never tried it, but I've seen a lot of recipes that call for oatmeal.
I'm gonna try it the next time I make meatloaf.

I personally don't use oatmeal as an ingredient in meatloaf..but I suppose you could substitute it for the bread crumbs...I can't promise how it would taste though.
Good Luck

When I was a kid my mother added it to meatloaf and it was very good. I don't think it is a normal additive though. Try it and you will probably like it.

Some people use it when they make meatloaf but I think it gives it a mushy texture. I don't like it.
