I've never met a dog I didn't like - although some, it seemed, disliked me. At least, that's what some old bite marks suggest ....

My favorite breed is the Airedale Terrier. These dogs are intelligent, loyal, fun-loving, and attractive. They can be a good family breed, if the dog is raised from a small pup around children, but otherwise tend to be a one dog, one person sort of animal. They have fur, rather than hair, similar to other certain breeds, and so shed either not at all or very very little.

While some Airedales can be rather large, for the most part this is a medium-sized breed. They do need lots of room for exercise and are not necessarily a good animal for people in small apartments without some open spaces in which they can run a while every day.

Thanks to so many channels on TV these days, you may be able to see Airedales in a famous detective series, "The Thin Man." Nick and Nora Chrles' dog, Astra, was an Airedale.

Great Dane no doubt. They are called the Gentle Giant for a reason! Don't be misled by thier size either. They just know how to stay out of the way.
