Right, the sheriff can issue you a license. Last time I checked, however, there are only 6 licenses in effect in SF. You can go to the State Department of Justice site to see what the number is for each county in the state.

Bottom line in The City is: when you come home and find some animal raping your wife, run away and call the police to come and take the report.

I lived 35 years in The City. I now live in a place with virtually no crime (seriously) - one reason is that the punks know that just about everyone (men, women, AND children) know how to use firearms and have ready access to them. Translation: get crazy and you WILL be shot!

Yes, it is. I believe the law was struck down in the CA Supreme Court.
