I do not have a particular model in mind, I was just wondering if there is an "in general" fix.

it depends on the mill
some are on the bottom where the pepper comes out you adjust the blade
some are on the top like a little notch/screw you tighten

You generally can adjust by tightening the nut on the top. The tighter you make it the finer it grinds the pepper

some grinders have a small screw in the middle that you can tweak in either direction. if you have one of those, try that...but dont unscrew it all the way or you'll have a hard time putting it back together
