no...
most braces are made of some other metal material, or aluminum, both of which dont set off metal detectors...
trust me...i went through the D.C. airport twice, and nothing happened...

Watch out for retainers, or spacers...because there isnt as much to manufacture, companies use real metal, which does set off airport security, as well as any metal detectors...

no i wondered this as well. i went through an airline metal dectector and it didn't go off. also i went through one that was when you enter a museum
