I like ones that aren't chains, avoiding therefore Beefeaters or those places that serve the brand (I think) Sizzle food. I just want nice, little, quiet, locals' places. Thanks.

Oh I don't mind - any part, I travel all over. Preferably Sidcup/Bexleyheath etc but I'd be interested in hearing anyway. Thanks.

Woodchurch, near Ashford - The Six Bells
Snargate - The Red Lion (a very old style pub)
Smarden - The Bell
High Halden - The Chequers

They're the only good ones I can remember so far!

I used to live near Dover in Kent, there is a place called 'The Lantern', on the Dover- Deal road. Lovely home made food, large garden which is great in the summer.

Do you mean Kent, Ohio? If so most of the bars are college bars, El Dorados is more of a hometown bar, Dog House is also a hometown bar.
