after Landis cracking today and moving down to 11th place, who do you think can really win the Tour this year? Best Answer will be given at the end of the Tour (7/23/06) to the person who picks the winner.

Answers made after 11:59pm Friday, 7/21/06 will NOT count. This gets rid of people who will cheat and answer when everyone knows who will win (during or after TimeTrial and/or last stage).

This is a tough question now after to days stage. Although Oscar Pereiro could pull it out since tomorrows stage is mostly downhill and he won't be challenged because all breakaways that have riders who are less than 10 minutes out of 1st place of the GC will be caught. It will come down to Saturdays time trail. Oscar didn't do too well on the first 52 km TT finishing almost 3 minutes out of first and 1'41" behind Landis, but more importantly 1' 38" behind Andreas Kloden. Saturdays TT is a little longer so I am going to go out on a limb and pick Kloden as the overall winner with Periero 2nd. But it could be the other way. But I am sticking with Kloden. Kloden it is then!! He is going to win it for Jan Ulrich!!

BTW, neither Landis (8'08") nor Levi (7'46") can make up the time through Satrudays TT!!!

(I am not changing my answer but after following today's stage, Stage 17 Landis may be able to come back enough to be in the hunt again.. so don't count him out.)

My predictions after today's stage...
1) Pereiro
2) Sastre
3) Kloden
.
9) Landis
11) Leipheimer

On a side note, I think the Performance of Landis today shows me that he is a clean rider. He ran out of gas, which is something clean athletes do after putting in such an effort the day before.

I am highly suspcious of Sastre, and Kloden who gave everything yesterday and yet looked even better today. Amazing coincidence that Kloden rides for Ullrich's team, and Sastre rides for Basso's team. I'm guessing Ullrich and Basso weren't the only ones who were doping on their respective teams. They were just the only ones caught!

Cadel Evans.

Since Klöden has already been picked by another person and I don't believe Pereiro will hold the yellow jersey beyond the next time trial, I'm going to go out on a limb and take Cadel Evans. It's a stretch, I know, because the gap between him and Pereiro is nearly three minutes but he's only 27 seconds behind Klöden.

Contador, of route. With purely one large degree superb (the TT), there isn't any doubt that Contador is going to win widespread. If, even if, Contador would not will strengthen the hollow b/w him and Andy by skill of more suitable than 38 secs, then in my e book Andy Shleck may be the genuine winner of the excursion. ------------------------ LOL - the time hollow after the TT is 39 seconds. i wager Contador has now easily received it.

Cheryl Crowe. She'll end up dating this year's winner.

Now that Armstrong isn't in it I'm not following it; the French can have their little race back
