The black dog. I had a black dog and a blonde one and when they were lying out in the sun, the black one was always panting and having to come into the shade earlier.

jokin, neither the black one absorbs the light energy from the sun which is converted into heat and so it seems that the black dog absorbs more heat. The white fur reflects the light and so is absorbing less energy and so is cooler.

This could be a trick question because it depends on the size of the dog.

Given that they are the same size, the black dog will absorb more heat.

Black definitely, as the black coat absorbs more heat and reflects less. I have a black cat and the poor thing virtually dies in this heat, whereas his tabby brother is much better off.

Try this! Take them both out into the sun, and sit with them for 5 minutes. Put your hand on the black one, and then the white one, and you'll know pretty quick!
