Maybe so because of the heat, but I have been eating soup for lunch! Miso soup is cold, so I suppose its like a summer soup? Either way, eat soup if you like it!

nope, just like it's fine to eat ice cream in the cold of winter. of course, you shouldn't have boiling hot stew or anything, but chicken noodle is ALWAYS welcome.
besides, you can have great soups like gaspacho that are cold but yummy and oh-so-urbane!

try this recipe for chilled cucumber soup:
3 cucumbers, peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped
5 green onions, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
2 cups nonfat buttermilk
1 (8-ounce) carton reduced-fat sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a blender; pulse until finely chopped. Cover and chill 2 hours or until serving.

You know that in Asia they drink tea to keep them self cool in the summer. If you drink hot tea or soup your body temperature will be egal to the heat that way you don't feel hot.
And if you are sick (you maybe be sick in the summer to!!) chicken soup is the best.
So for your question...i don't think is weird so have a soup in the summer

Not really. My friends brought me back some Cream of Broccoli soup with hot chiles in it yesterday. It was, like, 103 degrees here. Yet, I ate it cuz it was sooooo good!
