Practice associations with names. Repeat them constantly and then do self-tests every 5, 10, 15 minutes, etc. The mechanism for remembering names with faces are the experiences one has with individuals. When you first meet someone, you do not have that history, yet. However, you can contrive a history by doing the above exercises. It's not that hard, and eventually, you will see improvement.

My dad told me a joke along these lines many years ago. It goes something like this:

"Harold" was an outgoing salesman who everyone liked, but had a chronic inability to remember names. So, he went to a memory conference and the one thing he learned was to associate the person's name with a body part. Upon leaving, feeling confident and hopeful, he decided to try out this new technique. He introduced himself to a gentleman holding the door for him, who stated his name was William Thumock. "Great," said Harold, thinking, ("rhymes with stomach. This will be a piece of cake.")

Later in the day, Harold ran into the same gentleman, and without missing a beat said, "Why, hello Mr. Kelly!"

If you have a chinese drug store nearby, try essence of chicken. That worked wonders for my grandfather's memory and he's 75. Ask the sales person how much are you supposed to consume in a month.

I'd be glad to tell you but I forgot. But...If and when you do remember the names, say them out loud and write them down a bunch of times. It might be helpful to think of something the name rimes with or what it means. Like the name Goodman...He's a good man (or maybe he isn't such a good man) James Wright, ...he always thinks he's right. Judy Plazaro...Judy plaza.........Jeff Kaliko...calico cat. etc. etc.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, the way to maintaining your memory is to keep a healthy diet, keep physically active, challenge yourself daily with mental activity (games, puzzles, etc), and by having social interaction with other people.

TRY TAKING "GINGO" FOR THIS. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST ALTERNATIVE MEDICATIONS YOU CAN BUY OVER THE COUNTER AT ANY STORE SUCH AS WALMART OR EVEN A PHARMACY. IT REALLY DOES WORK, BUT YOU SHOULD TAKE IT EVERY DAY AND ACCORDING TO THE DOSAGE AND YOUR WEIGHT. START OUT WITH A SMALL MILIGRAM DOSAGE.

By paying attention to the name and finding something memorable about it ... and the person.

The more silly the connection, the easier it is to remember.
