Was she referring to the blood clots? I think blood clots can be fatal in rare circumstances, but not head lice.

How does that have anything to do with head lice? Blood clots can be fatal if they break loose and go to your heart or brain. As far as I know, there is nothing fatal about head lice though.

No it is not. Blood clots are only fatal when they travel through the blood stream and get stuck in the lungs, brain and heart. Even if a blood clot does that, it is not always fatal.
Why did your sister get blood clots on her back? That seems like a really odd place to be getting them in the first place. Are you sure you have your information correct?

Clots can be fatal if they lodge in a blood vessel (like in the brain, heart, or lungs). Head lice? Nope. Just freakin' irritating and hard to explain to that hot girl I met at the party.

I have never heard of head lice being fatal. Are you asking if the surgery is fatal or the head lice? I think you sister in law is pulling your leg.

The worse head lice can do is cause a skin infection in your scalp from dirt getting under your skin when you scratch. I'm pretty sure there has never been a case in which someone died from head lice.
