I'm currently working full-time from 7am-3pm & attending summer school from 5:30-9:45pm & try to squeeze in a workout between the two. After school I am completely exhausted. I am living with my dad and he charges me rent but its fairly cheap. Should I quit my cureent job for a part-time job that pays less? The stress is really getting to me.

I agree with the response that says "talk to your Dad." Perhaps he will have some ideas.

In order to make some changes you are thinking about, you will need to know if you can budget your expenses with the part-time job. How much income would you loose? Will you loose health benefits, too?

As for the workout, it's a good idea, but maybe not everyday?

With the schedule you described, you are under stress. How much more do you have to go before you finish School? Is this schedule just for the summer? Are you doing the same all year around?

You have a lot to consider. Talk to you Dad if you feel comfortable doing that.

When do you have time for fun? If you had a hobby or even a day or so during the week where you could go shopping or hang with your friends, I'd say keep your job. But you don't give any of that as evidence of what you do, and if you continue on the path you are on you will be burned out and losing your mind!!

I say get you a part-time job that allows you some free time, maybe something you really enjoy. Remember, you have your whole life to work! Don't overload on it now!!

You should first see if your current job will let you go part time while attending school. You should not quit your current job if it is a career position for the future, it is more beneficial for you to have experience as well as a degree, it maybe tough now but in the long run you'll reap the benefits and maybe don't work out so much- Remember it is only temporary.

Quit working out everyday, not working. Unless, and I mean this honestly, you are trying to lose a lot of weight (no offense intended). Maybe you can talk to your boss about coming into work at 9 instead of 7, sometimes they are good like that. But I would try to keep 30 hours a week of work, and save your money. Good for you that you are doing all this for yourself; paying rent, working and going to school. Good luck with the future.

talk with your dad, is he charging you rent to give you responsibilities or does he really need the money or is he just being a cheap father. let him know how having a full time job and going to school is real stressfull. tell him you want a part time job but you wouldnt be able to afford rent, and see if he'll stop charging you rent. or keep the full time job and take less classes. being your father he should rather you worry about finishing school than worring about how to pay rent in his house.

Wow-pretty demanding schedule. First off, is your job a good one in the field you are studying? If so, don't quit-summer school will be over in a few months. Then you'll be on regular classes, right? Is it any less demanding of a schedule? If you can make it moneywise, and it makes more sense for you to change jobs, then yes. You are the only one who knows best what you can handle! I hope things work out for you!

Maybe you could cut your hours down in the place your at? When I was going to college I quit voluteering as a baby cuddler at Hartford Hospital--big mistake!! I loved it and now there is a waiting list that I've been on for 10 years. You need to weigh your options and decide what YOU want--nobody else. Good luck and remember school is extremely important.

Quit because stress will lead you to get sick and if you get sick you won't be able to go to any job, let alone school. Trust me, I"ve been there done that and it isn't worth it. Stress got the best of me and I was going from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was wrong with me. Talk it over with your dad before you make any decisions that will affect the both of you.

YES, if you want to continue with school you should focus on that, you don't want to exhaust yourself to the point of quitting school!!! It is much more important than a job right now, talk to your dad about staying rent free so you can finish school sooner and get out of his house sooner. He may be cool with that. Good Luck!!!

You need to focus on school. Why is he charging rent??? If you messed around in school, the uphill battle you're having to climb now should be punishment enough. Focus on school so you can get into college and/or get a "real" job when you graduate. Good luck!
