it is a shame that most people will not see the true meaning of your question. some times, if written correctly, a humorous question can still get your point across. but you are correct in your assumption that a question like " was jesus married to mary m? " does more harm then good.

As for myself I like serious questions and those are usually what I answer; not all serious questions look that way at the outset. I also ask serious questions and when I do sometimes I get a decent number of people answering but more likely only a handful.
Yes the world is a mess, yes we need to pay attention to the issues. Will Mr. Bush veto stem cell - of course we all know he will but let's hope Congress has enough sense to override the veto. The conflict in the middle east - well we have seen the fringes of that for years and nothing was politically done until all of a sudden its on the doorstep.
Life is serious business but it does need humor. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

Wow! You weren't kidding when you said you were going to commit intellectual suicide. Of all the truly funny things to laugh at in this world and you're going to choose religion and/or God...interesting! Makes me wonder what you are REALLY questioning! Laughing yet? And anyone honest-to-goodness Christian who would get "p***ed off" at you asking such a stupid question, is very weak indeed because you can't make a Christian angry by asking such stupid questions. You need either to sleep or drink less coffee. You are rambling. It wouldn't matter to me if Jesus married but then I do not know a single woman who would have put up with the type of life He lived. No house, always traveling, women throwing themselves at His feet begging for things, no money,no job, all those people living with you to take care of, no privacy, you have to carry your own things everywhere you go because you don't even own a donkey, and your husband gives all His time to others.Think about it I wouldn't put up with that husband would anyone else?

Normally yes, but I'm kinda on a serious kick right now. And, that stuff I've been reading, has taken all of the fun out of christian bashing, or any religion bashing. I just feel sorry for them, and all of us that we have to invent an imaginary entity to calm our worries about death. I feel like a hampster on a wheel right now. Throw me a pellet already.

You can't really change them. They're going to believe whatever they want. No matter what you come up with to show contradictions in their own reasoning, they'll just come up with something else to justify their beliefs. They think by denying reason, they're passing a test that's going to get them into heaven. They are drug addicts with religion as they're drug. They won't budge until they are good and ready.
