If ur CD is Rewritable then only ucan erase from it.Well checkout www.softpedia.com for some softwares.
If ucan arrange for NERO its the best tool to deal with cd writting & deleting.
If some of ur friends have bought a CD WRITTER recently they must definitely hav been given a NERO original CD free.Check with ur friends.

well the cd would be need need to be cd-rw a rewritable cd
since u cant delete data on a standard cd-r.
most writer programs have the ability to remove data from a cdrw but would problery require the cdrw to be formated eg all the data wiped off it.
i use ahead nero for burning cd's, wiping cd's.

First of all your CD should be rewritable. Then you will be able to do that. Otherwise you will not reuse it. Good program for erasing data is Nero. But you have to purchase it. Try eBay. It cost much less there.

(you could try to find one on www.download.com)

usually when i have a CD (with confidential data) i take a knife and make a few cuts in the disk, then i can easily break the disk on the cut lines and safely trow it away.
