I had this same problem once I started my own company and had to do business earlier in the morning to have any success in my industry. Obviously going to bed earlier is the only healthy way, I just wasn't tired and have sleeping problems any way due to acid reflux. I was told, then I tried, exercising to exhaust my body. I'm at a desk or driving most of each day so there wasn't much room to "physically" exhaust my body although mentally didn't have a problem. Once I started working out it really took care of the "Physical" part and I was able to go to sleep much earlier which inevitably brought me to the right sleep schedule. Plus, I'm getting into shape which I probably wouldn't have done otherwise. Hope this helps a little.

Getting to bed earlier does help some. If you normally get up at 7am, and don't have to get up at 6 am right away you can try setting your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier (645 am) and do that for a few days. Then set it 15 minutes earlier (630am) and try that for a few days. Or you can do it in 30 minute increments. Or just start cold turkey and get up.
Being consistant is the part that helps the most. Even on the weekends.

The only thing I can suggest is that you have to keep your sleep a constant schedule so your body can get used to waking up at 6am...Some people dont need as much sleep as they think and wake up tired because they feel that they went to bed too late. But usually we are tired because we over sleep. Try going to bed at the same time you do on the weekends too just to train your body..I say just do this for a couple of weeks. Your body should adjust. Sleep tight and dont let the bed bugs bite!!

If you can survive on the 6 hours of sleep then just go to sleep at midnight and turn your alarm on for 6 am. Your body will eventually adjust to the schedule.

Just put your alarm on - you will get used to it eventually. Also on your days off don't get up really late or you will find it hard to wake up at 6 again.

stock your house with coffee, you won't last on 6 hours for long. get an alarm clock, and then make sure you don't have to be too involved and think too much at your work or w/e cuz you are gonna get WIPED OUT.

while you are trying to go to sleep tell yourself over and over again that you have to get up at 6 am. and use your alarm clock just in case your body still doesnt want to get up that early.

think of something that will motivate you to get up at 6am
e.g. it can be your favorite food/ drink
and allow yourself to enjoy that after getting up
