Government policies should enforce “Thou shall not kill” I am with you there, although…. what if that is God’s plan for you? What then? Are you going against what he has planned for you?
A topic for another question, what I am asking here is government voting on morality such as homosexuality and the stem cell debate. If there was a vote (and I think stem cell is it) that called into your personal views would you then say our Government shouldn’t be voting on our morals? I mean there are Christians on BOTH sides of this fence…
What do you think?

Don't be greedy, don't kill each other, be good to one another. But none of these examples are particularly Christian. These are what we could call universal truths.

Issues such as homosexuality and abortion are basic human right guaranteed by the law. This is why people don't get arrested for doing these acts. (don't ask don't tell). No state has a right to interfere in body issues. This is not the state territory but a part of ones individuality.

OK, first of all, the government cannot and should not legistlate morality. It just doesn't work. As for if dying is God's plan for you, it's gonna happen regardless of the laws of the land.

Stem cell research is a touchy subject. Let's look at it this way: Stem cells do not have to be harvested from fertelized embryos. That just happens to be the best/easiest source. I don't think that people who have a personal problem with stem cell research should be able to stop those who don't have a problem with it.

I think that some people have not had enough life experiences to realize that not everybody shares their beliefs, and they do not have a hotline to god, therefore they can not legislate what is in fact morality. Some people don't even try to see outside the realm of their own existence, or surround themselves with people that are different than them.

The stem cell thing hits close to home for me, because I have MS. But I guarantee if one of George W's daughters were diagnosed with MS, or were paralized, or George senior got Alzheimer's, he would be all about the stem cell research.

by in tremendous i don't think of morality is that different around the globe. We take a branch enormous difference and run with it; in the period in-between forgetting that the trunk, base, and roots are truly a similar. different cultures would disagree on what number different halves you should have, yet none of them have self belief you should have any and all different halves. No custom glorifies cowardice and promises adult males rewards for operating backwards in conflict. There are adjustments, yet by in tremendous no longer something like entire adjustments, our custom's own attitude is so ingrained in us, that any version looks to us as a drastic enormous difference, yet there quite isn't any opposite morality. in case you disagree with the proposition that with out God there is not any morality, you would possibly want to describe to me what you do have self belief, because it is very nearly as in case you've been putting forward that the statement is faulty and that there quite is morality with out God, yet then you fairly bypass on to say that there are different moralities. I merely would prefer to carry close precisely the position you stand. Are you infact putting forward there is not any 'genuine' morality or do you easily count number on morality? if so your comments look to coach in the different case. you spot the problem? with out God, we are the superb authority, and considering the fact that there are distinct individuals, morality will develop into relative and therefore will no longer be authentic, it is in basic terms something we pretend has fee merely so we would stay peacefully. each human being innately believes in 'genuine' excellent and incorrect and there is a good judgment difficulty once you're taking a superb being out of the approach, because then that 'genuine' excellent and incorrect will develop into someplace between an anarchy and a democracy. a deliver needs one captain, a crew one head coach, if it were no longer this kind confusion and conflict would reign. In a Godless international, there are 7 billion head coaches and morality will merely develop right into a be conscious and not using a meaning. Mankind has no longer proved himself honest with power and authority, and each and each so frequently it is exhibited to us that we quite have neither besides, and then we develop into humble for a short at the same time as and then we ignore lower back.

The government should not mandate morality.

Also, laws protecting life and property are essential to the stability of society. You do not have to view them as moral issues.

Fetal stem cell research has secular ramifications regarding the protection of life.

Lucifer. Know that name? It means Morning Star. He was the arch-angel of arch-angels; the most beautiful, the most wise, the one closest to God. He experienced the most intimate and deep things of God. He was created to lead the angels in worship, in adoration of God - he knew God intimately.

What did he become? Satan. That is his name today. How did it happen? Did God create him to be evil? Definitely not. He chose to rebel against God. He took pride in his beauty, wisdom and power and wanted to build is own kingdom. He chose to use the awesome gifts and abilities God created him with, to sweep up a third of heaven's angels in rebellion against God.

It lies in choice. Always. Twin brothers grew up in a broken home. Dad was in jail, mom an alcoholic that didn't care. The one brother became successful and happy, the other followed his father's footsteps into the criminal world. Both born and grown in the exact same environment. You know what they replied to an old friend of both, when he asked them what happened? The successful, happy brother said "...those circumstances... I had to get out of it..." the jailed brother said "... I couldn't get out of the circumstances, its just how things went..."

Both these are true stories, both reveal that no matter whether you're in the best or the worst circumstances, its what you do with what you have that determines your destiny. You can miss your purpose by your choices, or you can realize it through your choices.

God doesn't make people kill!!!!!!!!!!

Your destiny is by choice, your purpose by creation... e.g. a scalpel was created to heal, but it can also be used to kill.

I asked a similiar question to this once. They say god has a plan for you on one side, and then blame free will when someone gets murdered or an abortion happens. Well, apparently someone else's free will to kill you can overwrite God's plan of when you should die it seems.

God can't have a plan for you if he does not exist.
