I'm not sure that a small woman needs that big of a bike at all, but you DEFINITELY should not start with one.
I'm a 230 pound man, and I ride a Kawasaki 800 cruiser, and it's plenty powerful enough for me. It's my first bike also, but I think even I would not have wanted to start on a 1200.

My answer would be yes. Have you ever rode it before? That is alot of power for your size. I have a good 50 lbs on you and I am looking at 600's.

Depends on your muscles......do you work out??? I would suggest maybe a 600cc, but if you feel like you can handle a 1200, go for it.
