Have your doctor talk to your recruiter and the military doctors at MEPS (I don't know the acronym, but this is where the processing begins and where you ship out for boot camp). If this is something you really want to do, don't let your medication stop you from trying. Obviously, you will have a tough time getting in because you have been diagnosed with a psychological condition (although I don't know what that medication is for, you would tell us if you wanted us to know), but just because you have something like that in your background is not an automatic disqualifier for military service. The only psychological issues that will keep you out is scitzophrenia, anything to the extreme severe OCD, for example), or a history of suicidal tendancies, or a suicide attempt.

My boyfriend while in the Marines knew some guys that were in Paxil. What are you on it for, because depression is probably fine which is what Paxil is, but if you are schizophrenic or bipolar, that might be an issue. The Military may ask for your medical records. But good luck, Marines are the best

They will not let you in if you take any meds on a regular basis. If you get off it & stay off for at least 6 months & are still "fine" then I'd try. But they ask you a ton of questions & if caught lying, they threaten you with fraudulent enlistment $10,000.00 fine and up to 2 yrs in prison. You also have to give urine & blood samples, medical records from your Dr. and anything else they want.

You should ask your doctor this question. Noone here is really qualified to answer that because they are not familiar with your particular situation or medical history.
