depnds on what sort of dog he/she is.
if is fluffy and small, how about poofy, or cuddles or pookie
it its big but slender how about arwen (girl) male (blackie / shadow) if its black.
if its a clueless dog... you know the lazy type like my dog (a chow chow) you can call him shawn.
if its a golden lab... well mandy seems to fit... he has a song even.
if it looks japanise. mashi is good
it really depends of what sort of dog you have and his personality

With my dogs I just waited to see what their personality was like, then that determined their names. I did this with my cat too.
