I've always used advantage, Adams or frontline but I know of people that use regular dish soap to bathe their dog in to get rid of fleas

You have to understand the life cycle of the flea--they can lie dormant for months at a time--which means that if you put on a topical flea treatment (which are expensive, but worth it) once or twice, but then let up and miss a week or month, then they can reinfest. Fleas do not live on the host--they only feed off the host, so the fleas that you see on your pet are only a percentage of the ones living in the home and yard. They live in cracks in the walls, along floorboards, in the carpet and furniture as well as doggy beds; therefore, you MUST flea bomb every room, as well as treat the yard (both these things can be found at Lowe's or HD), as well as treat your pet.

Put a flea collar in your vaccum bag to kill the ones that you sweep up. Through some flea powder on the carpets and let sit then vaccum up. Treat your animals with frontline or k9 advantix. That's how I've treated it in the past and it worked for me....GOOD LUCK!

If your dog is in a fenced yard treat your yard..It has been hard this year..One of our volunteers at the shelter works in a Doctors office.. She literly brought fleas to the dr office ON HER! and we get sprayed once a month! and bathe ..treat the dogs&cats..I use Frontline Plus at home but like you its not lasting..I'm switching to Advandix this month to fool the fleas..But spraying my yard Has helped 80% or more---Good Luck..you arent alone! Hope for a cold winter to freeze them out good!

Dawn dish soap!!! Not the scented kind though, wash your dog in it twice, then put a bucket of warm water and dawn dish soap in the middle of the floor where the dog is normally at and it will attract them and kill them, or bleach water... but that can hurt the dog so youll have to be very careful and make sure he dont drink outta that bucket! and put a flee collar in the vaccum bag and sweep it will kill the ones in the sweeper

Drown 'em. Hold your pets entire body underwater, except for his head, you don't want him to drown, and all of the fleas will flee to the animals head or drown. Once the few fleas left are there you can get them of easy. Just dunk your pets head underwater several times for just a couple of seconds, wash their head with flea shampoo, and then dunk it again a few times. It's alright, a dog can hold his breath underwater for 3 seconds just fine.

We use Advantage. Works quite well. Make sure you are getting the right size for your dog. A lot of folks think they can get away getting the 'small dog' or medium dog size for their large dog and this is just not the answer. You MUST have the right size for your dog.

I'm going through that right now. I've tried frontline, I've sprayed RAID and sprayed and sprayed.. you'll need to go and get a flea bomb and try that.
