What object would it be...a ship, a boat, a raft, a coconut...

This is an honest question, I need some ideas for a painting. Yes, this is a spiritual question and belongs in this catagory because life is a journey and we are all going somewhere. Besides, I very much like the creativity of this group. I've also asked it in another catagory...

My life is my wife and kids. I can't think of any inanimate object that my life would center around. (I'm buddhist, so material things aren't really worth a heck of alot! Life on the other hand is precious.) If it helps for your painting, picture a small circle of people floating in the ocean from the chest up, with their arms linked around each other.

MY LIFE AFLOAT ON THE OCEAN
would be that of a turtle shell
olive-green in color with white dots
and its shape
a tribute
to nature's
mathematical genius.

My empty inside
would provide shelter
to tiny yellow fishes
but to the human eyes
it would mean:
DARKNESS AT SEA
and death
afloat.

One day
a man with swarthy skin
looking at your painting
and the empty shell
SHALL REMEMBER
the funny taste
of sea turtle soup
and tell you:
"AFLOAT
ON
THE
OCEAN
I
WAS
HUNGRY
and ate
a turtle
RAW
under
the burning
SUN."

A bird!
Going with the wind and waves or against the natural forces! Flying up and resting on the sea, going with the wind streams, etc.

A ripple in the wake of life...
Once I foamed at the bow of creation...
my wave spread wide and far...
long thin lines now reveal me...
on the face of a cosmic sea.
