I not only breast fed all three of my children, I also wet nursed my nephew as his mother did not have a good milk supply and he had allergies to most formulas. Both my daughters have breast fed their children and my best friend had five kids and breast fed them all. Popular or not, it is the best way to feed your child, help control your weight, provide additional birth control and give your child a boost in the immune department. What does everyone think you have breasts for anyway, to fill out a swimsuit?

breast feed all four of my children. My first was born with a birth defect, so I actually pumped for her, but the other three were breast feed for at least 8 months and one even went for 15 months. Breast feeding is the best for baby,m I dint have a problem with bottles and formula, but you are right why waste what you made for your baby, and no formula wont hurt!!!! Breast feeding at one time was not considered popular and in fact when I was breast feeding my second child in a restaurant (I was completely covered) I had to people ask me to go to the bathroom to feed him. I asked them if they would want to eat their dinner in a bathroom!!!! But breast feeding is becoming more and more popular and people are doing it everywhere!!!! And so many companies are making supplies so you can do it any where and comfortably!!!!! Congrats on nursing your children and dint pay attention to what your family member said, It is your choice!!!!!! Way to go mom!!!!!

I'm still breastfeeding my now 1 year old, and I'm 3 months pregnant with my second. I will continue feeding him even after I give birth. I figure I'll be nursing for at least the next two years.
Nursing was very difficult in the beginning. He couldn't latch on... so I had to pump every 2-3 hours for the first 9 weeks (I got absolutely no sleep). Throughout that time, I came down with mastitis 3 times, and countless bouts of pain with engorgement & clogged ducts (my doctor called me the "milk Goddess"). I almost gave up quite a few times in tears and agony... but I stuck it through... and I'm so happy about that. Breast is best!!!! and is very popular. I don't know of a single mother that hasen't at least given it a good try.

I had breast fed all of my babies and i have 4 my first baby i fed her in till by body stopped producing milk at about 4or 5 months.
My second was for 11 months and then i had twins who unfortunately were in the hospital for 2 months and the were only 2 and 3 lbs was not allowed to actually breast feed but still gave them my milk.
Tell your family member that whom ever she got her info from is wrong and more people then she thinks still breast feed there kids.

Just signing in and letting you know I breastfed both my boys. One longer than the other because of breast infections, but they both were fed for at least 4 months and the other for a full year!
Both had supplemental bottles at times (sometimes with breast milk others with formula)
Hope you get a big response!

Breast-feeding is the best. It has all the advantages. The milk has all the fat, sugar, nutrients that a baby needs for the growth. It has the natural antibodies to protect the baby. It is more sterile b'coz the milk comes directly from the body. And the most important thing is the touch. By touch, the baby feels more secure and close to the mom.
And as for moms, its time-saving. Also, it helps in reducing the fat in moms. So, their body comes to normal shape soon.

I breast fed both of my kids, and each self-weaned at 21 months. I can't recommend La Leche League enough, as a support group for new moms giving breast feeding a try. It is a HUGE committment in time, and with so many moms returning to employment while their babies are still tiny, I think it is harder and harder to be a mom.
I think it was the best choice for my kids and they are both successful adults.

there's a extensive version interior the discretion with which women human beings pick to breastfeed. some are very "on your face" approximately it and others can do it in a fashion which you just about do no longer be conscious. My suggestion is to breast feed your daughter as necessary - only drape a receiving blanket over the front of you before you start up. maximum infants have not any concern nursing with a easy weight coverlet over them. there is no reason everyone sitting close to you needs to be sure pores and skin. because your hubby would be with you he can carry the infant mutually as you get located.

I tried for a few days with my first kid, and I didn't like it.
I did NOT breast feed my next two kids.
All three kids are highly intelligent and physically healthy.
I know several people who breast feed, and I know several people who bottle feed.
There is a lot of intolerance by breast feeders against bottle feeders, and by bottle feeders against breast feeders.
Since we are all trying to do the best we can, given our physical and emotional composition, let's all try to get along, huh?
Breast feeders are NOT cows, and bottle feeders DO love their babies. (Just a few of the insults I've heard!)
