You do not drown, but you do begin to wash away all the nutrients in your body, many minerals and vitamins will be leeched away which means that all the good you think you are doing by drinking all the water is being reversed.
8 pints of water a day is the most you should drink! which is a lot to get through, so you probably do not have to worry.
drinking water is excellent, it helps your body to clean out all the bad things you put into it.

You can injury yourself by drinking too much water---over do and it will damage your stomach with over bloating----but to drown--the water has to enter the lungs and shut off the air supply to the body---so no you can not drown by drinking too much---now if you call anything going down your throat drinking that is a symantics call but drinking usually will mean intake for the stomach---drowning entails intake to the lungs

I saw something in a magazine saying that a little boy got water toxicity from drinking too much water, cant remeber the posh name for it but he nearly drowned! Apparently it is so rare we should not worry about it and still drink loads!

Absolute rubbish. You cannot drown by drinking too much water. You need to replace the fluids that your body looses during the day. Soldiers working hard under extreme heat have been known to drink upto 30 litres of water a day. They piss every 5 mins but that is when you know that you are hydrated. If youre piss is yellow and smelly that is when you know that you are dehydrated.

Yes, but you'd have to be trying to breath while drinking enough water to drown. Basically you'd have to get the water to go down to your lungs instead of your stomach and it'd have to be enough to drown on.

yes for the reason that if u drink it and someone bumps u or u start laughng or something like that, then the water might go down the wrong vent thusly going to ur lungs as oppossed to ur stomach so if u swallow to much to ur lungs, then u can drown from drinking water, but it is very unlikely since the body will try its best to prevent this from happenning. possible, but not plausible

You will not drown per se as you are saying it, but you can die from drinking too much water. As with all things too much of one thing can be harmful if not fatal to one's self. It will cause your body to go into shock because the body is only able to use and dispose of so much of something. The same is true with bananas, if you eat too much of them the amount of potassium that your body would ingest would be too much for the body to handle.
