Why can't muslims be as peaceful and tolerant as christians?

Christians peaceful and tolerant?? since when?? do you not remember the Salem witch trails or the crusades or that guy on here who asked when god would kill all the queers?? Christians are just as hateful as the Muslims, but you cant say they are all like that. Not all Muslims are bad just as all Christians aren't but you cant condemn a whole group of people because of a few bad seeds. Some people are bad and some are good and even though they claim to be doing what is right by their god many disagree with them. Get to know some Muslims before calling them all evil.

People all over the centuries have been killed by Christians, I am a Christian, I'm being honest about some of the behavior of Christians. Have you ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition? Did you hear of the Smithfield fires and the reign of Bloody Mary in England? I'm saying that you need to read some history before you assume all Christians are peaceful and tolerant. I think Jesus is correct and the savior but I'm not blind to the fact that many, many Christians have persecuted innocent people over the centuries.

You mean like President Bush, Fred Phelps, the Northern Irish Protestants and Catholics, the Crusaders, the Inquisition perpetrators, the Nazis, the KKK, those who conquered the Americas and forced the natives to become Christians, the white South Africans? Muslims would probably be a lot more tolerant if Christians would just leave them alone and let them live their lives!

Muslims have basically two religions in one. The earliest version is the peace one, the later is the violent. Due to the environment Mohammad was in when the "perceived" truth was revealed to him. And basically it's true, we are all peaceful when we are getting our needs met from our environment, we can all become violent when we are threatened by it. You are just seeing two sides of the same coin.
Religion is just a reflection, odd as it may seem, on genuine human emotions. It's in your hands to interpret it correctly. Questions are a great way of doing that!

You've got to be kidding. There are people in both religions who are very tolerant. However, there are just as many in BOTH religions who are not. Perhaps a better question would be, why can't all people who profess to follow a faith be peaceful and tolerant??
