I read somewhere that if you store the bottle upside down, it stays fizzy b/c the bubbles can't escape through the cap.

Ok shaking the drink releases the CO2 out of the drink.
The best way is to bubble carbon dioxide through it. NO STOP! Dont breathe into it you will ruin the drink.
Put some baking soda in there and you will make it nice and fizzy again, but it will taste of filth, mmmm filth.

If it's in a plastic bottle (2 LITER) You can squeeze the sides to push out most of the air before you put the lid back on and make sure it's on tight. You can also buy "pumps" that replace the caps with a lid that has a pump on it so you can pump the air out after you close it.

If you're talking a 2 ltr., squeeze the bottle moving the liquid as close to the top of the bottle as possible before screwing on the cap.

on a plastic bottle, I squeeze the bottle to get out as much air as I can then put the lid on while I have the side squeezed in.

Seal them with expansion caps immediately after use. They'll keep the carbon dioxide.
