U-1414.6 is 45 feet longer in length than the old style U-1414 and can now carry six extra TII type torpedos with an exterior storage of 2 more. The saddle tanks have been increased for additional fuel storage and make long range patrols into the Atlantic much easier to accomplish and the addition of a larger deck gun coupled with two flak guns make it a formidble raider when conducting surface attacks on unescorted convoys.
