Sure you can go to Cuba, but if you go, don't try to bring anything back into the U.S. or it will be confiscated by Customs and you won't get it back. The economic sanctions against Cuba were reaffirmed and even became more stringent when President Bush signed the new restrictions into law in 2002. Only Cuban nationals can bring anything of Cuban origin into the U.S., and they can only bring in newspapers and periodicals -- NOTHING ELSE. American citizens are not allowed to bring ANYTHING back from Cuba. So have a good time if you go, but don't waste your money on souvenirs.

It depends where you are coming from. If you are trying to fly in from the US, you won't be able to because of the trade embargo. But, I know people who have flown to Mexico from the US and then flown to Cuba. Cuba is nice enough not to stamp American citizens' passports when you get there (so that you don't get in trouble for visiting).

If you are a US citizen, by law you're not allowed to go.
There are ways around it, like traveling to Mexico and once there buy a ticket to Cuba. The immigration people in Mexico and Cuba know not to put a stamp in your passport, but - just in case - remind them.

What for? to see FIDEL CASTRO and GIVE HIM SOME MONEY TO GO AHEAD WITH HIS "REVOLUTION"? Naaaaah, that mother.. has to let go of the country, then it would "really" be accessible not just for you, but for all of us. I am dying to go to Cuba, not to party, but to see my family, which was left behind when I legally escaped the country.

Yes, go to the beach, and when a raft filled with Cubans washes ashore, take their raft and set yourself free!
