Once upon a time People respected the laws and were punished for breaking them. Illegals know they're breaking the law from the day they enter, they know they can be deported at anytime. Letting a person off the hook, doesn't build good character.
Imagine telling illegals to leave on there own, those who respect leave first would be the first allowed back in. Those who don't leave, get recorded, deported and never allowed to legally return. The punishment for a repeat offense is so bad, people will respect the laws.
It would be horrible if it came to this, but it's about respect. Things run extremely smooth along the 4000mi Northern border, yet it's the 3000mi border to the south experiencing problems daily. The US respects the Canadian border, Canadians respect the US border, the US respects the Mexican border, could respect or complete lack there of have something to do with our southern border? It would be one thing if only Mexicans were crossing it, but they're letting everyone cut through their land.
There's one law that covers everyone, overstay your visa=deported, enter illegally=deported. This is fair, regardless of employment or if you had kids.
Illegals know that by having kids in the US basically eliminates the chance of being deported. Having three and four while earning minimum wage basically ensures being awarded some type of financial assistance.
Securing the border is a far better option than deporting illegals and their kids who are American Citizens... Agree?

Anyone who gives up civil liberties for "freedom" deserves neither liberty nor freedom. Benjamin Franklin said that.
A 20 foot wall? I'll say it again, no wall, no army, no government and stop the human spirit. People will find away around, or through walls (China, Berlin, etc.). The human spirit cannot be stopped by material objects, it's desire to live properously and free are intangibles that many Americans greedily take for granted.
A militarized border too huh? To do what? Shoot and kill innocent civilians? Declare matrial law? George Orwell would have a field day! Militaries are used for war, not to defend a border from the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
I pray America never gets this way.

IF you are truly religious...you would say: "GOD never placed borders on land!"...but at the same time WAR is biblical...and war were always about land.
IF you go back to History...AMERICA was built on immigration.
IF you go on HUMANITY...Why keep people from finding a better way of Life here in America the Land of Immigrants.
IF you go to NATIONAL SECURITY...We must control the borders to the best of our abilities.
IF we could go back to our constitution and our fore-fathers...I think they would have had better answers to this problem than what you pose above. Looking back at History, they probably would buy more land...they would probably buy Mexico...and simply make AMERICA more bigger, more immense, more powerful.
You don't make AMERICA more powerful by closing yourself in WALLs....
Heck, Japan could have given up after the two bombs we threw at them...instead they launched themselves to economical dominance.
Hell, why don't we see How we can use these immigration issues to our advantage?
What did our Fore-fathers had that our Politicians now-a-days Do not have? VISION?

we may be able to attempt - yet each attempt at blockading extraterrestrial beings (and medicines, and rather a lot some thing else) thus far has been a finished failure - inspite of 1000's of billions being flushed away on border safe practices and a failed 'warfare on drugs' in accordance to annum. we may be extra proper off to legalize (or a minimum of decriminalize) drugs - and tax the **** out of them, defunding the cartels in one day. Naturalize the extraterrestrial beings that do not have criminal information, are not defrauding the authorities for welfare or help, and are preserving employment - and then deport or imprison some thing else (the prisons may be emptied of all non-violent first-time drug offenders, which could sparkling up the reformatory overcrowding challenge at the same time). There are genuine recommendations - yet there is too a lot money being made off of retaining the status quo. This is going for both area.

No, no, no! Eventually all borders will be open and the influence of trade with other countries and need for skilled labor will be the most compelling reasons. The hourly wage issue will soon be resolved and Mexicans seeking work in the United States are already looking for work in other states, California, they say is too dangerous, too many gangs. Massive deportation of illegals would be too costly and we don't need a "special police"; smacks of fascism. I do not think you know of what you speak.

I do believe that America should have a wall to protect the borders. I'm not against immigration at all, but I do believe it should be done legally. If a family of five can just waltz across our borders undetected, then I'm very sure a well financed terrorist group can also. This is what has been worrying me for years.....

Yes-we should close our borders to ILLEGALS and send the ILLEGALS back to their own countries. They are a drain on our economy and society. They are a major cause of over population (especially in California). I'm not racist (don't even try that sh*t with me). I'm an immigrant (LEGAL) as is my family. We waited to come here so why can't they (illegals). My entire family speaks English because we live in America (we don't need government forms in different languages).

I think just the opposite will occur....
I think this govt. along with the rest of the world is headed for one world govt. That would mean we would share open borders with Mexico and Canada.
What people seem not to understand is that this president along with his father and Clinton are all globalists. I feel the future president will also be a globalist.
The powers that be, want to implement a one world govt. We have already seen that in Europe with the EU. The new Mexican president is also a globalist.

Not only no, but Hell No...it will never happen. The consideration is with the southern border and no one thought is given to the Canadian border where all the Ahhhmeds do their brainstorming.
