best NZ site for flights is zuji.co.nz
you could try houseoftravel.co.nz
In most case it is cheaper to fly LHR-LAX-AKL (Air NZ, Qantas)
However in summer they do run LAX-CHC (Air NZ) if you wanted to go to the south island. Air NZ has just started LHR-HKG-AKL
Thai via BKK
Cathay Pacific via HKG
Singapore via Singapore
Emriates via DBX and SYD
Korean via ICN
All run random specials at times
In general it is better to get ticket via their websites
