How long should i do one?

Yes. What kind are you doing? It would be also good to do a colon cleansing. I was a vegetarian for 2 wks. No meat or seafood. It cleaned me out and my body felt good. Just dont think of it as a fast or boast about it. Act like its your everyday routine, and it will make it a whole lot easier

a cleansing fast can be very healthy in my experience. if you've never fasted before it's important not to just go cold turkey. sometimes, it's a good idea to have a juice fast where you drink only fresh veggie and fruit juices for say, 3-7 days. As you've fasted more and are used to the feelings of not eating, you can sort of wean yourself away from juice and then just have a water fast.

they can be wonderful for your body, mind AND spirit. they're very rejuvinating! instead of focusing on food (which most of us do!) you're focusing on discipline. it's a good opportunity to become more faithful, to read or meditate, study something you've always wanted to know more about ... etc.

Just don't work out or do strenuous activities. obviously your lack of calorie intake won't mix with exercise. Yoga is excellent ... I hope that helps a bit!

I've done 3-day fasting. Only water. It feels good. It would probably depend on your own health. The first thing I had each time was an ice cold naval orange...it tasted soooooooo good.
