A hopeless romantic huh??? Lucky.Lucky girl...
They are a dying breed.
Some suggestions would be:
Cook him breakfast and bring it too him in bed.
Fill his car full of helium balloons and streamers(when he opens the car door the balloons with the streamers attached will fly throught the air.lol)
Buy him his favorite CD and attach a note that says he can't listen too it until U can both be alone and listen togther.
Take him shopping and make him model the clothes for U.
(whether they admit it or not men LOVE to be adored and pampered with praise) that way U can OOhh and Aahhh over his choices.
Cook him a candlelight dinner and play his favorite music during dinner. But dont eat at a table, take the dinner to the park or on the roof of his house under the stars, or any secluded location where U 2 can be alone. Buy him a card 4 everyday of that week and tell him he shouldnt have to celebrate his Bday only 1 day a year.
Give him a bubblebathe...Men LUV that, pamper him, give him a massage make the entire evening about pleasing him. Besides U wanna show him that U R SO happy he was ever born.

It all depends on how much you're willing to spend on him. If he's a hopeless romantic, like u say he is, do something that no one else would do for him. My friend hired a helicopter and it dropped them off at the beach where she had a picnic lunch planned for them. If you're short on cash, just go out to a nice restaurant and make sure you have the house to yourself for the night. Give him a massage or something like that and have a nice relaxed night together. Or, find out when his favorite band is coming to a town near you and buy tickets. The concert might not be for ages, but you can give him the tickets and then you know that you both have something to look forward to together.

I completely agree with what Riddick said. Maybe I'm old fashioned but if I had a girlfriend and was approaching my first b-day since being with her, I would totally want to spend it with her. Yes, guys need 'guy time' and girls need 'girl time.' Nothing wrong with that. If he was just going for a weekend without you, even that would be cause for concern. But the fact that this is his birthday--and his first birthday with you in his life--does not bode well. He may be 25, but seems to have the maturity of a 16 year old. Tell him to grow up. There comes a time for a man (and woman) to realize whats more important: hanging out with your buddies or hanging out with the guy (or girl) you love. My advice: Dont threaten him, dont give him an ultimatum. But if he chooses his friends over you, you will always finish second. Will he invite his buddies on your honeymoon too? Drop tjhis jerk like a bad habit

Guys can be difficult to buy oringal gifts for, but to this day I think that my boyfriend was happiest when I got him tickets to see his favorite band in concert (The Mars Volta). If you're not looking to spend a lot of money, you could try looking at local clubs to see when some new people will be perfoming that play his kind of music. They will usually range anywhere from nothing to $20 for local bands. Then that way you could maybe do dinner or something before you go, or buy him a new t-shirt of one of his favorite bands so he can sport it at the concert. Just a suggestion, hope it was helpful.

A t-shirt of his fave band (or a band he likes a lot), or a cd of one of his fave bands. Get him something that he's wanted for a long time. Take him to a fancy restaurant. Buy him a nice watch. Go to the park & have a picnic, or the beach. Buy him a shirt that's of a brand name that he wears. Buy cologne. Take him somewhere where you 2 never go. Hope this helped !!! :)

Try sharing a memory.. a moment... something special to you that you want to share with him. Some of the greatest gifts aren't wrapped up and tied in a bow.
I think the best gift you can give to someone on their birthday is just letting them know how special they are and how great your world is because he was born. Don't lame out and buy a CD or a gift certificate.

Get lingerie for yourself, and set up the night as a suprise, perhaps the day before his birthday, with dinner and everything.
Make it an official "date" is always a turn-on for a guy to be asked out on an actual "date" by his gf. doing it the day before will really catch him off guard, and when midnight hits it'll be his bday!
If that's not pg enough for you. just dress up and leave out the lingerie, i'm sure he'll go crazy still.

I would take him on a weekend trip somewhere (driving distance), get on priceline.com or hotwire.com and get yourself a Bed and Breakfast with a jacuzzi or a regular hotel with a jacuzzi. So far you've spent gas money and no more than $65 on a room. All you have left to do is eat and pleasure.

Maybe some kind of small gift that you made, or that will have very special meaning for him. Plan a special day for him and give it to him then. Because it came from you and from your heart it will mean a lot to him. Plus he can do the same for your birthday! Enjoy.

my girlfriend gave me a poster of my favourite movie framed. it was a hard poster to find. year after she gave me the book 1984 by george orwell and wrapped it in the lyrics of Talk Show On Mute by Incubus. a song thats kinda ours. the song was wriitten in reference to the book. the first present was extravagant, but i loved the sentimentality of the second present
