I didn't go to the site you showed. I have to run. But I felt compelled to answer this. If someone slapped me in the face, I would whack both sides of their face and run like hell...........

Perhaps not, but I assure you there are people who would do other peaceful things instead of retaliating.
I also recall hearing a theologian speculate on this particular quote, in which he said the idea would not be as degrading as we might imagine. At the time, a backhanded smack implied someone thought lowly of you (which it still does today). To "turn the other cheek" would force that same hand to smack you openly, which was somehow a sign of higher respect.

I love that website. Also check out www.godpart.com and read the premise of the book; "The god part of the brain" it really helps us atheists to understand why so many people believe in a god of some kind, and refuse to see any other possibilities. I have no choice but to respect their beliefs, and let them be happy with what amounts to a security blanket.

I have tried, but I have always failed... I believe that God knows whenever a time like that calls for me, he already knows that he'll just have to continue to forgive me everytime until i can grow up and learn to walk away! Cool question!

This had happened to me so many time, and not just physical, but mentally as well which is worse. Yes, but I still wont give up on this person.
