Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
1st: piece of fruit
2nd: string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
3rd: bowl of cereal
4th: soup/sandwich
5th: a good dinner-meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
6th: salad/raw veggies
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Cardio exercise is great, but most people don't continue for an extended period, do "daily" simple exercise like walking/hiking...swimming and biking are low impact, playing games like basketball, baseball, volleyball will tone your body and you'll have fun doing it.

Chicken is always a good food for losing weight. Drink a lot of water and eat your vegetables. Also, if you want to have something sweet, substitute some sort of fruit for that candy or whatever sweet thing you want to eat. Eat 4 or 5 SMALL (don't eat too much) per day, it makes your metabolism run more efficient because it doesn't have to break all that food up at once.
Also, if your like me and just put food on your plate, put like 1/4 of it back and you'll end up actually eating less.
But I do stress the veggies with your meals, it gives you some extra energy and fuel for the day.
If you don't like to work out, go for a swim. Swimming is absolutely the best exercise you can do. If you don't like running, go for a bike ride somewhere. I live in the desert and it's like 100+ everyday of the summer so outside workouts are out of the question, so I swim. Even if you do 5 or 6 laps a day (to one end and back is the lap) you'll lose weight if you eat the right foods. Even if you eat a lot of the good foods, you'll still burn it off.
I hope it works out for you, I've lost about 3 or 4 inches off my waist in the past couple months by just eating less/correctly and doing a few laps everyday or two.
Good luck!

Ok I have the same problem as you, I'm so picky I don't even eat salad let alone sea food. First of all make a strict diet and keep to it no matter what. Second start exercising and make sure you stay active. What I eat is a lot of chicken. Very good for you and lots of protein which is key. I also like to eat wraps during the day for lunch, usually turkey, sometimes ham. Try taking a multi-vitamin to help give you the stuff your missing out on from being a picky eater.

The best analogy I can offer is push away from the table, before you've had enough. Just eat less,,,PICKY OR NOT.
One can get to a point of healthy sustenance, and evacuate the weight they ingest, every day, hence maintaining, but not gaining.
That does not suggest bulimia or striving for anorexia.
Health concerns are important, but one can very easily lose a pound or more a day, by taking those steps to maintain rather than gain. I do it every day,,,although admittedly I never see a Q or answer advising healthy ways to gain, whcih is my goal.

Everything in moderation and just try to eat more of the things that you know are good for you that you like.
