Each child is different ; check w/ the Dr.

If they seem satisfied, and able to make it to the next feeding the next time...then I would hold off until they need it.

You will have to deal w/ allergies, upset stomach etc..if your baby isn't ready for it.

I did add a little cereal to my babies bottle in the evening... but that was 16 yrs ago,,and that could all wrong now;;; things have changed so much!!!!
So, advice from your parents isn't always the correct answers now .

Good Luck, and remember~ when your baby is jabbering in public and you think they are too loud,, realize that they are happy and allow them to talk/sing or whatever.
When they want a book read to them, and you are watching t.v.... and really dont' feel like it.. well,, take my advice... pick up the remote, turn off the t.v. and read as many books as they will allow!!!!
Time is so precious!!!! My oldest daughter will be leaving for college in 3 weeks, and oooooo how I wish I could go back in time and do things over... and I didn't even work while raising them... I decided that you can live on what you make... you dont' have to own a new car, a used one is fine, you don't have to own a camper trailer, a tent or pop-up camper is fine.... because all those things will come in time.
(did i get off the subject?? lol sorry)

my mom started giving me baby cereal when i was only 2 weeks old...i never had any problems becuase of it...i'm 26 now...and as an added bonus, my mother said as soon as she started feeding me cereal i started sleeping all the way through the night...i was also walking, talking, and nearly potty trained by the time i was 1yr....total time for potty training was closer to 16-18 mo. I know Dr.s say that you are not suppose to do this, and not suppose to do that....what did mothers do before there were doctors? My mom said she really thinks that starting me on the cereal earlier helped with my walking, talking, etc. so early. Now that's not to say that she put me on nothing but cereal...she started out with just a couple bites here and there, and worked up to it...she didn't just start feeding me only cereal. It was a gradual process.

We started to introduce it in her bottle at 2-3 months to thicken it up then went to cereal around 4-5 months. Worked out great for us shes been in the 95th percentile for height since she was born

Not until 5-6 months. Before that you run a risk of setting the child up for allergies. Latest research from England suggests too early introduction to foods other that breast milk or formula might also explain the increase in asthma in children. Who knows?
