What does the slang term “I’ll pop you one!” mean? Some kids are using it to mean "I'll pay you back" ... references to origin would be appriciated

and I'll pay you back is a vindetta,

Well you might want to pray you don't find out from them have you ever heard popped a cap in em that's gang slang for shooting you
Or i will pop you one hit you up side you head but that's probably not what they were saying a little of kids talk out there bottoms to and you have the ones who go shoot up the schools its a wicked world we live in and its always best to be kind to all we meet.

Basically, it's slang for I'll punch you in the mouth. When I say it I'm usually joking around... hopefully the kids you're talking about are too!
