Well, my dear - maybe you should take a bite of my apple pie as I am extremely experianced at baking. I think you should be careful how you bake your pies in the future as no one like crust round the edge of their pies....just a nice soft juicy filling with a soft outer edge. I can give you grannies secret recepe if you'd like.

Baking on too high a heat I would think, try lowering the heat a little and brush the crust lightly with milk before baking.

bcos the crust is made of short crust pastry. let me explain u what a short crust pastry is, while making the pastry the development of gleuten is minimised which increses the crispyness of the crust.

apple pies are blind baked to start with and since the edge is not covered it is overbaked easily
